inexpensive ways to decorate my apartment?
i will be a sophmore in college next year and this summer i am renting an apartment from my gram. it’s pretty cheap, but i’m looking for some simple ways to give it my own flair. also, where can i get some furniture pieces (sofa, love seat, etc.) that are cheap. if i need to make changes to them i will. i’m very crafty with stuff like that. any ideas please chime in!!!
btw it’s a one bedroom/ one bath apt. the living room and the kitchen are basically connected. there is also a little patio in the back.
Painting is always a good way to spruce things up, but if you can’t do that, hang pretty fabric from the top of the walls down to the bottom and secure with push pins, or just put a strip at the top, like a decorative molding. Folding screens are a great way to separate rooms, or if that doesn’t work, you can use cloth again, lattice work, or beaded curtains. Area rugs add a lot to a room. You can always check the classifieds in local papers, second hand stores, garage sales, and flea markets for pieces of furniture that usually aren’t too expensive, and you can probably negotiate for a cheaper price.
