Dinner Meal
What is a dinner meal that relates to History?
For my history extra credit, I have to make a meal relating to history somehow.
Example: Meal made during the Great Depression etc. etc. or World War I or Holocaust.

Depression story: My dad use to tell us how he and his brothers and sisters could go pick the extra potatoes and onions from the field after the farmers were done harvesting…so I was thinking about a basic potatoe soup would work. Here are a couple:
Amazing Potato Soup
6– medium potatoes {pealed & cubed }
1– 15 0z. can chicken broth
1– can cream of chicken soup
1/3– cup diced onion
4– slices bacon cooked crisp &crumbled
8 oz Velveeta cheese {cubed}
Boil potatoes until tender set aside.
Combine chicken broth and onion simmer until onions are tender. Add cream of chicken soup and velveeta stir over low heat until cheese is melted add bacon and potatoes. Season to taste. Serve hot.
I don’t know how accurate you have to be. I think my dad talked about them having milk and some spices…maybe this one would be better (without the swiss cheese):

He also talked about having dry bread crust spread with lard (which is just basically animal fat). I know…it sounds nasty, but maybe you could take it to show your class.
