Tiny Dishes for Invalid – how do I find them?
At a garage sale, my mother once found a set of small dishes designed for an invalid. She didn’t buy them, and has been regretting it ever since. I’d like to get her a set for Mother’s day, but I don’t know if there’s an official name for them, and all I can find is doll dishes. Any idea where to look or what to call them?
Would a set of desert dishes work? They were sold during the 40′s-60′s in sets and are smaller than full sized dinner plates, but some china manufacturer’s still manufacture them today with their full sized companion patterned pieces. You can, however, still purchase them separately so you do not have to buy the entire setting. I still see the older ones in thrift, consignment and upscale second hand stores.
