How do I lime wax pine furniture?
I have some bedroom furniture in pine, very good quality but too dark in colour now. About 20 years old when new had wax finish.
How do I lime wax this furniture
Part of the effect of liming wax is that it fills the wood grain, creating a contrast between the open pores and the wood surface. To get that effect, you’ll want to clean off the old wax as thoroughly as possible first. White spirits or a heavy-duty cleaner, such as General Finishes Furniture Cleaner, and #0000 steel wool should do the trick. You can further open the grain of the wood by brushing in the direction of the grain with a soft, brass-bristle wire brush.
