bunny causing too much destruction. how to stop?

my bunny is kept out in our screened in patio and he has whole run of the place. he has a cage with a litter box and hay and he can go in and out of it freely. but lately he’s causing a lot of destruction and my mom is getting pissed. she’s mostly pissed that he chewed a giant hole in our screen door and now that the weather is beautiful my mom wants to use it, but she cant. he also chews up our wood furniture. he has TONS of chew toys (pine cones, wooden blocks, kitty scratching post, cardboard boxes, apple wood sticks, you name it!) what i want to know is there some sort of spray that will deter him from certain things like the furniture and screen door?
and is it safe for them to ingest?

How old is he? If he’s between 5 and 6 months old, he’s reached sexual maturity and is in his “teenage” years. From about 5 months on, rabbits develop lots of destructive and bad behaviors, and the only way to stop them is to neuter/spay them and provide lots of toys for them to play with (which you’ve done.)

If you bunny isn’t fixed, there are more reasons you should do so. Fixing your rabbit prolongs their life by years, and makes them easier to bond to other rabbits too! Their litterbox habits stay good (an unfixed rabbit will poop and pee to mark its territory) and they’re less restless and aggressive. It’s good for you AND your bunny.

If he’s already neutered, you can try sour apple sprays… if that doesn’t work, I’ve heard people having success with pepper. As a last resort you could reconfigure his living area to block off what he’s chewing.
